Katana "Ietsugu" within shirasaya


Blade length 76.7cm, thickness at the base 9mm, width 3.3cm

This is a robust and heavy Katana blade made by Ietsugu who lived in Kaga province. The age is 15th century or 16th.

Steel has a wood grain layer pattern. And it is visible.




Hamon is made of large particles, and its active pattern is attractive for eye. The hamon at the tip becomes narrow.



Polishing work is the modern style (Hadori style) done by a student of past living national treasure. So it is good for eye appealing.

Habaki is silver foiled.
