Namban is a style that made of Chinese taste design with a complicated cut out work.

This is a very good Namban style tsuba that I have never seen before.
The cut out work is very good, and so is the steel colour. The gold applying is effective to make this tsuba beautiful. Powerful tekkotsu appears on the rim.
It may come from early Edo period (17th century).
For example
This may be a Chinese sword guard, but the tang hole is spread to put on Japanese sword. Probably this is a primary way of Namban style appearing.
